Projects

Here is just a selection of the recent projects Charlie has been involved in:

Abacus - Original Score

A quirky chiptune score for an indie platformer, featuring single-player levels and a multiplayer deathmatch mode. The game is available to buy on Steam, and the original soundtrack is on most streaming platforms.

Art of Combat - Original Score

Art of Combat is a non-traditional turn based PvP (player versus player) multiplayer title. It focuses on adaptive, simultaneous turns based combat, while fighting for dominance over the very game world. Featuring fast paced decision making within a set of unique mechanics. All while exploring fresh cultural settings in a semi-stylised art style.

Writing In The Sand - Trailer & Album

Writing in the Sand is a page-turning space opera, set in the near future as a dystopian post-Brexit Britain launches an illegal space colonisation programme. I created music and sound effects for the book’s launch trailer, and am also writing an album inspired by the novel – stay tuned for more information!

Skyrim Rescored

As a personal project, I am composing an alternate score to the popular game Skyrim, combining influences from the existing music with medieval folk instrumentation. Read more about this project in the blog.

The initial beta release will be available to download soon.

Horror Zone - Music and Sound Effects

I produced music and sound effects for the Horror Zone, a haunted house attraction based in the Netherlands.

Acousmatic Music

A selection of experimental electronic music from my PhD portfolio.

Competition Entries

Zero Hour Enhanced
In 2014, I composed a score for the Zero Hour Enhanced modification for the game Command & Conquer: Generals. Inspired by the original score, I combined orchestral music with electric guitars and Chinese and Middle Eastern instrumentation, but also added sounds inspired by dubstep, EDM, and country music. The result is something I’m still very proud of, despite some slightly dodgy recording and mixing. Listen to a selection of the original tracks below, and watch this space for news of a remastered release…
